The Abraham Incident

Warning!! Abrahams injuries are extensive, the pictures below show the extent of the burns he has received. If you do not wish to see the extent of his injuries do not click on the pictures!!

Abraham had a terrible accident last December in which he received awful burns to much of his body. He slipped over on wet mud while carrying a large saucepan of boiling water that he just taken of the fire. Unfortunately he slipped backwards spilling the boiling contents down the front of his body.

Abraham was lucky to survive. It was touch and go for a while but fortunately Chris, who was visiting the island at the time, and his staff where able to get Abraham to hospital very quickly. If they hadn't he may well have died. Thankfully everyone rallied round and raised enough money for him to be treated.

Abraham is now out of danger but needs an operation on his neck and may need some skin grafts. His injuries are healing really well and he is being cared for by the doctor from the hospital.

Abraham is lucky to be alive but his injuries could have resulted in him losing his life. Thankfully he is fit and strong which aided his recovery. He has been an incredibly brave boy.

Thank you to everyone who donated to his treatment, without those donations Abraham would not have made the recovery as well as he has and could have died.

A special thanks to Andy Read who completed a sponsored Santering during December 2005 and raised a grand total of £285.00.

We will update you on his progress as soon as we get more information from the hospital.

In the meantime please keep Abraham in your prays.

Updates on his progress will appear below.

Abraham has been with the doctor for nearly a year now, this recent photo shows that nearly all of his skin has healed and re-grown. When it has, Dear Uncle Billy Bugs, (responsible for our children’s health) will make arrangements for the tightened skin under his chin to be released, Billy and Tony Forrester were with Abraham recently and Billy thinks it should be straightforward. Billy was very impressed with the improvement in Abraham’s health. It will be a wonderful day when Abe returns to the island, and it may be in time for this Christmas, Eric has to check with the kind burns doctor where Abe and his Mother are staying. The biggest fear is infection to his remaining wounds. Our Abe isn’t out of trouble yet but with your prayers and our Lords kindness, he soon will be. Such a brave boy; our Abraham.
