Chris Boxall - LVCH Founder
Chris
Boxall is a business man and inventor from Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire in the
South East of England. A born again Christian, Chris is a determined man with
vision and drive that is the envy of all who admire and respect him.
Chris has three children, Tim, Jim and Joe. He has invented the worlds strongest magnet and has the UK patent.
He spends most of his time these days running around thinking of new ideas of how to promote LVCH and visiting groups and organisations, speaking and presenting the concept and the future of LVCH. He has recently met an African Princess called Rosie in Uganda and has some amazing plans for the future.
Chris has recently proposed to Rosie for her hand in marriage and of course, she said yes!! You can read the story of how this all came about here. A very personal message from Chris. Update:- Chris has now married Rosie and you can see some pictures of the day here.
In setting up and running the orphanage over the years Chris would like to thank the following:
Spring/Summer 2008
Chris would like to thank Marion Campbell of The Lodge Care Home in Hemel Hempstead for the donation of walking aids which will be put to good use by some of the less able mothers on the island. These walking aids are almost impossible to source to Uganda and are a welcome lifeline.
A huge thank you to Mike Stevens for his endless support and input as Treasurer, thanks for all your time and effort Mikee, it is greatly appreciated.
Summer 2005
Chris and LVCH would like to thank Dan Simms and Mark Humphrey's for allowing Chris the use of Bovingdon Airfield, without which Chris would have nowhere to temporary store LVCH gift donations before being taken to the island or anywhere to practice and put to use his many wild and wacky ideas.
Thanks to Howard Wilson Accountants of Watford for their continued and valuable support.
Thanks also to Steve Down for the use of Flaggs Estate Agents premises in Hemel Hempstead.
A big thank you to Sheryl for advise on silicon wristbands and everyone else on the fundraising committee for continued support and for fresh ideas for fund raising.
March 2002/2004
Thanks to Tyrone Spence of Colour Quest printers in Hemel Hempstead. They offered and have printed the Melting Pot Book of poems completely free of charge as well as the latest leaflet.
Nigel Gayler has sold £2,000. worth!
May 2000
I was down the Sunderland's Industrial Estate in Kings Langley a couple of Saturdays ago sitting in my awful old Fiesta admiring a search and rescue type boat on a trailer. Its owner, Mr John Darlington, whom I did not know saw me looking and came over. I said that I was admiring his boat and how I was starting to learn about them (boats) as I was going to have to use them in the future and of course told him about the plans.
Thank you to Milton Keynes Christian Fellowship who have bought us an Ex Army 10 man frame tent. It will be ideal for sorting, storage and accommodation. I don't know why I didn't think of it earlier.
Thank you to Heather at Watford's RICHER SOUNDS 01923 218888. A few weeks ago I called and told her about the plans and how we could do with some sound equipment for the Island. She has kindly arranged for us to have some units at cost price. I called on her with my son James and she told me how she had been telling Julian Richer, the owner. about what I am doing. I did not know this but Julian Richer gives really generously to all sorts of things, I can't help wondering since hearing this if we will catch his eye. Thanks Julian for the cost price stuff, the locals will go wild when they hear the system, before my middle son Joe and I visited the Island last September many of the inhabitants had not seen a white man before. They love music but the best recorded sound they have ever heard is out of tiny transistor radios!
Thank you to Chris of Phones Express for the laminating machines and pouches.
Thank you to Dave Clay of Butlin House for the 10 metal beds frames.
Thank you to Jackie Barnes and her helpers for the clothes and toiletries.
Thank you to Beds are Uzz in Hemel, Chris Fellingham 01442 266148 who gave us 5 new 3ft mattresses when I only asked him for old ones!
Thank you to Texmore Textiles 01727 826644. Dave Philips kindly gave us loads of very useful textiles for use at our home and to give to the desperately poor locals..
Thank you to Kate Peters for a new video recorder. (I have some lovely films such as Peter Pan and Jungle Book and my 32" wide screen telly went in the first container).
