Lake Victoria Children's Home was established and founded by one mans vision, Chris Boxall. Chris had visited Uganda to meet a pastor his mother was sponsoring and it was during this time that Chris was overwhelmed by the amount of AIDS orphans and tried to find a way to help them.
His initial idea was to set up an orphanage but this proved impossible as Chris could see that he would not be able to cope with so many Children. He left Uganda disappointed that he could not help until that is, the plane he was onboard bound for home flew over some islands. Chris had the vision to build the orphanage on an island, by doing so he could then control how many children he could manage as the water would act as a barrier. Lake Victoria Children's Home has given refuge, education and a family to over 50 children to date.
Our mission is to continue the work Chris started and to encourage others to support us. Through this website you will read many stories, some sad, some happy, some horrendous. Above all, most of these stories all have a happy ending. All our children are given an education, clothing, fresh food and a family they can call their own.
