Recommendations for Visitors
All visitors wishing to come to the Island are required to follow guidelines in order to remain healthy and safe during and after visiting Uganda.
Below is a summary of the vaccinations required before visiting the Island. Ideally, you should see your GP 4-8 weeks before visiting:
Malaria tablets are available from your GP.
Countries requiring malaria prophylaxis should be regarded as being at risk all year round and you should also assume that the whole country is at risk unless otherwise indicated.
Remember:- No prophylaxis is 100% effective but not taking anti-malarial's where they are indicated will put you at greater risk should you get the disease. Malaria is a killer!
There are different drug regimens so you need to seek medical advise from your GP. You can also seek advise from The Travel Doctor - www.traveldoctor.co.uk/africa.htm#3rdb which has valuable information.
All visitors are required to provide written character references and are subject to police checks. This is standard practice by charities of this nature. In the first instance please contact us if you plan to visit.
